The Good: The Acute Angle

The thing you notice about David Boreanaz and Angel sites is the black. Unrelenting, all-encompassing black -- maybe with some blood-red for the lettering. Which is why the front page of The Acute Angle (and, no, that is not a typo) is so refreshing. It's white. With blue words. David's wearing black, though.

This site has the usual. Pictures -- ooh, the pictures! -- fanfic, a bio. But here's the interesting part. They have a Shrine at which you can leave an offering for the God Boreanaz. Among the more printable items so far thrown at his feet are a lot of love, several claddagh rings, and a disturbing amount of children's toys. What's that about?

The Amusing: Salty Goodness Cult of Angel/us Addicts

Okay, so it has no design virtue to speak of, and is very purple (again, a pleasant relief from the black), but this site is so endearing in its earnestness and good humour that it just must be visited. Even with half the site "under construction" (aren't they all?), it is still cute, simple, and kinda lame -- but there's pictures! One's called "Angel with car...and leather pants," and yet appears to have been taken in the daytime. Odd.

But it's got a great name! And so has the site. As they enthusiastically exhort: "Become a Cult Ho Today!"

You wouldn't expect to be too impressed by a site that offers pretty much nothing but pictures of David Boreanaz, would you? Except that this site has pictures of David Boreanaz. Lots of 'em. So, yeah, impressive. Hey, we'd probably have been happy if they'd just posted an Angel screensaver.
