The 11th Hour

We're Takin' A Freakin' Vacation
Why there's a double issue, how much we need sleep, and where to find 11th Hour updates for the month of August.

The 11th Hour Web Magazine will not update its features section for the month of August. The next full new issue of 11th Hour will appear September 11.

There. We said it.

Now before you start sending letters of complaint, keep in mind that this decision is final, it was made several months ago, and nothing you can say will change our minds. We are exhausted. We have run 11th Hour for fourteen straight months without a break, without taking off weekends or holidays, without any money, and with a full staff of roughly 12 people and an editorial staff of three. No magazine does that, including conventional ones, and so we don't want any bitching and moaning from you guys about the situation. We know you'll be cool about it, because that's the kind of great audience you've always been. Right? Good. We knew you'd understand.

However, 11th Hour will not be gone entirely. We will still be updating the news on a daily basis (yeah, I know, some vacation, right?) and will add movie and TV reviews semi-regularly as well. (No, you will not have to wait two months to find out what we thought of X-Men.) Those who subscribe to the mailing list will be notified when these review updates occur; if you are not subscribed to the mailing list and wish to be, click here and enter your email address into the little box near the bottom of the page.

In other news, Lisa, Linda, and Sarah will all be present at this year's Comic Con in San Diego, where we will have lots of 11th Hour stuff to share, celebs to stalk and squirrel bastards to destroy. (We hear a certain X-ecutive producer may be making an appearance.) If you seek to join the revolution, or are just a reader who would like to say hi, please write to Sarah and she'll give you the information on where to find us. We will also be covering the convention itself while we're there, so make sure to check the 11th Hour news every day in late July for our thrilling tales of geek convergence.

So that's it. Keep visiting the site, stay in touch, and we'll be back -- in revitalized, well-rested form -- this fall.
