WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL? Seen the trailer? Then you don't need to ask.

THE CAST

BRUCE WILLIS: Bruce has been in a series of crappy action fare, including Armageddon, The Jackal and the Die Hard sequels. He's also had roles in some terrific genre work such as 12 Monkeys and The Fifth Element, and Sixth Sense looks to follow in this pattern.

HALEY JOEL OSMENT: Otherwise known as the Awesome Kid From the Trailer. At only age 11, Haley has assembled over 15 screen credits, including parts in Forrest Gump, For Better Or Worse as well as playing the part of Avery on Murphy Brown.

OLIVIA WILLIAMS: Best known as the chick from Rushmore, Olivia was also Ross's British finance's friends on Friends.

DONNIE WAHLBURG: As anyone born between the years 1975 and 1983 knows, Donnie Wahlburg is the Bad-Ass New Kid with the Facial Hair. The one who burnt down hotels and wore bandanas and stuff. He is also the brother of Marky-Mark, aka Mark Wahlburg, who has made a far more auspicious cinematic presence than his sibling and truly put the hangin' in "Hangin' Tough."

THE CREW

M. NIGHT SHYAMALAN: 29-year-old director from India; past credits include Wide Awake, Praying with Anger. Currently directing the film adaptation of Stuart Little. Aside from writing and directing Sixth Sense he also plays the small part of Dr. Hill.

OTHER

Sixth Sense will be distributed by Buena Vista Pictures; its producers include Barry Mendel and Sam Mercer.

THE PREMISE: Bruce plays a child psychologist who treats a boy with paranormal powers. ("I see dead people.") Together, the boy and Bruce try to find the cause of his problem, and discover many scary things along the way.

GOSSIP and USELESS FACTS:

  • Originally slated for a September release, Sixth Sense was moved up a month due (or so it is rumored) to the terrific audience reaction to its mega-creepy trailer.
