"Blood Brothers"
Airdate: November 24, 1999
I'll get the boring part out of the way first and mention that Liz and Max get in a car accident which eventually leads to the outing of the FBI/school counselor and an estrangement between the cow-eyed Liz and one of her oldest friends, Alex.
On the more interesting front, in the aftermath of their awkward kiss, Michael is trying to avoid Maria. Luckily the accident brings them closer and leads them to spending more time in another cheap motel room. In a case of the alien doth protest too much, Michael at turns both pushes Maria away and keeps her as close as possible all the while doing his damnedest to annoy her. Someone is really doing their UST homework and I am so proud of them!
While the boring couple are off doing something -- I forget what -- Michael sets about tossing the room of the guy who has been following them while Maria is supposed to just stand by the window and play lookout. The only problem is that Maria is much better at snooping and offers a lot of good suggestions that lead to the discovery that Ms. Topolsky isn't just a school counselor.
Now comes confession time. I have to admit I enjoyed the scene in the Crashdown Cafe that cuts back and forth between the aliens and their co-conspirators. While Maria, in her stereotypically melodramatic manner, relates to Liz who was really responsible for the revelation about their enemies, across the room Michael spins a similar tale to Max and Isabel, only he paints himself as the brains of the outfit. I guess males, no matter whether they be earthling or alien, are the same everywhere.
Oh, and even better? Next week's previews are either a horrible tease or else more than one alien/earthling couple is going to... uh... couple. Roswell Place here we come!

Roswell airs at 9pm EST, Wednesdays on The WB.
